Evangelism

The Outreach Programs of our Church

Our church in the Gambia, despite being small and lacking ordained personnel and support, has voted to implement a Senegambia outreach strategy to finish the work of proclaiming the gospel of Christ in the Gambia.

General Objectives

  • Spiritual Nurture
  • Soul-winning and community outreach
  • Education and training of leaders, workers and lay men and women.
  • To reach all unreached people groups in the Gambia by 2010.

Strategy

  • Revival and reformation of the church that it may be more sound in doctrine.
  • Evangelism to enter and establish communications into five new people group areas yearly in the Gambia.
  • Train pioneers to serve the church in their capacities.
  • Seek support for evangelism and leadership training

Present Evangelistic Strategy

Although we at present lack support for our programs in the Gambia, the Lord gives us unity, wisdom and strength. The church is active in :

  • Public Evangelism: Members of the church always gather together in prayers in the cities and urban centers.
  • Children's Ministry: This is another important strategy which has been used to teach children of our membership and incoming children through evangelism for baptismal classes.

40 Bible Students Baptized

On April 10, 2011, 40 formerly Mulsim Bible students were baptized and confirmed in a worship service in the Wolof language (see images below). The service was led by Mr Samuel Thomas and the baptisms and confirmations performed by Rev Sengo and Rev Moussa Marone.

The service was conducted in the Wolof language,
translated from English so that all could understand.

A group of baptismal and confirmation candidates awaiting to be baptized and confirmed into the church by visiting pastors from the Lutheran church of Senegal.

A great harvest time for Christ through evangelism in The Gambia.
